Punta Cana is one of the most popular destinations in the Dominican Republic, with an estimated population of 44,000 along its 8 km of beaches.
Searched for its paradisiacal beaches and warm waters, it is a popular destination for honeymooners or even families. The average annual temperature varies between 22 and 31 degrees.

From January to July and December. From August to November it is not advisable to travel because of the formation of hurricanes.

  • Baváro Beach, is one of the best known in the region
  • Cabeza de Toro Beach, also with crystal clear waters, very popular for families
  • Punta Cana beach, known for its beautiful baby blue waters
  • The beaches of Uvero Alto and Macao have been very popular mainly for their luxury resorts. Although, they are not beaches that are so wanted by families due to the rougher waters.

Gastronomy:

  • Breakfasts are typically savory, known as “Los 3 golpes” is served with mangú (green banana puree) topped with red onions boiled in vinegar sauce, fried cheese and fried salami.
  • Bandera Dominicana (a large portion of rice and beans with chicken or beef, served with a salad with avocado and tostones (sliced fried bananas)
  • Sanchocho (It is mainly used on anniversaries. It is a thick stew of roots and meat – it usually combines chicken, pork, cassava, yams, green bananas and potatoes and is served with a bowl of white rice and slices of avocado.)
  • Pasteles en hojas, made with banana dough, stuffed with meat and wrapped in banana leaf.

  • As of April 23, 2022, all passengers and crew are not required to present a COVID-19 Vaccination Card, PCR or antigen test to enter the Dominican Republic or enter tourist centers, any establishments or receive services such as excursions.

  • It is advisable to wear light and fresh clothes and comfortable shoes.
