Bayahibe is a city in the Dominican Republic, located approximately 16 kilometers east of La Romana, on the coast of the Caribbean Sea.
It is located 50 minutes from Punta Cana Airport, right next to La Romana.
The official language of the country is Spanish.
Climate

It has a tropical maritime climate. The cyclone and rainy season extends from June to November, although tropical storms and hurricanes can also occur at other times of the year. We recommend that you regularly consult local and international meteorological indications, also following the information provided by the Civil Protection (see http://www.defensacivil.gob.do/) It is not recommended to visit unmarked beaches.

Typical food
- Mangu, a typical breakfast dish, also known as “los three blows”, a puree made from green bananas topped with red onions boiled in vinegar sauce, fried cheese and fried salami.
- Bandera Dominicana, a giant portion of rice and beans, with chicken or meat, sidedby a salad with avocado and tostones, which are sliced fried bananas.
- There are several varieties of rice, “moro com guandules”, or rice with “guandu”, and “locrio”, a dish that looks like a paella, with seasoned rice and chicken or another type of meat.
- Sancocho, a typical dish cooked for festivities, a thick stew of roots and meat that mixes chicken, pork, cassava, yams, green bananas and potatoes and is served with a bowl of white rice and slices of avocado. It’s known for treating hangovers.
- Pasteles en hoja, made with banana dough, stuffed with meat and wrapped in a banana leaf.
- Mofongo, most typical from Puerto Rico, but the Dominicans prepare a version based on mashed bananas with garlic, pork or shrimp

NOTE:
- Upon arrival at the airport, it is necessary to pay an entry fee into the country, which must be paid at Customs
- The Currency is the Dominican Peso.
- There are no travel restrictions to the Dominican Republic since April 2022. From this date onwards, passengers arriving in the Dominican Republic do not need to present a vaccination certificate or any document related to Covid-19 to enter the country.
- The risk of contracting dengue, malaria and zika persists. It is important to always consume bottled water.
- To enter the Dominican Republic, the passport must be valid for 6 months on the date of departure, and the ticket to leave the country, the address of your accommodation, proof of economic solvency to cover expenses during your stay will also be required.
